Learning outcomes of course unit

Successful completion of the program of the academic discipline "Collision avoidance and use of radar and ARPA" involves the following learning outcomes:

 - deep knowledge of COLREGs-72, including amendments;

 - navigation using radar for vessels’ passing;

 - use of ARPA and AIS when passing in difficult navigational conditions;

 - skills in the assessment of navigational situation obtained from all sources, including Radar, ARPA and electronic navigational aids in order to make decisions for collision avoidanceand maintaining safe navigation of the vessel;

ship handling techniques in zero visibility.
