Learning outcomes of course unit

Successful study of the academic discipline involves the following learning outcomes:

- the ability to create the configuration of an integrated system;

- ability to test the system;

- understanding the principles of voyage planning;

- the ability to view information provided by the AIS system;

- the ability to correct the position of the vessel based on the information       

  from all navigation sensors;

- the ability to assess maneuvering from the point of view of navigational

  safety;

- the ability to set an alarm;

- the ability to control devices for registering all ship data;

- ability to use e-mail capabilities;

- the ability to use the services of the global Internet information network.

Content of course unit

The main goal of studying the academic discipline is the training in accordance with the international convention STCW - 78/95 with amendments in terms of acquiring knowledge of modern integrated bridge systems and application of the information on the navigation equipment and systems that facilitate the decision-making process.

- Section 1. Basic concepts and definitions of integrated informational and managing systems

- Section 2. Main properties and requirements for the systems included in the modern integrated bridge systems.

 -Section 3. Use of information on systems that are the part of a modern integrated bridge systems for real-time decision-making process

- Section 4. Prospects for the development of systems that are the part of a modern integrated bridge systems to ensure the adoption of optimal decisions during the operation of the vessel.
