Learning outcomes of course unit

- Knowledge of basic concepts, definitions and laws of technical thermodynamics;

- knowledge of the real gases state equation and the ability to use tables and diagrams of water vapor;

- knowledge of cycles of steam power plants, cycles of internal combustion engines, cycles of gas turbine plants and jet engines, cycles of refrigeration plants and compressors;

- the ability to determine the work, speed and mass flow of gas or steam;

- knowledge of the regularities of determining gas and steam flow parameters in channels of variable Laval profile;

- knowledge of the properties of liquids, the differential equation of liquid equilibrium (Euler), Pascal's and Archimedes' laws;

- knowledge of the differential equation of ideal fluid motion, the Bernoulli equation for an elementary stream; basic equation of hydrodynamics;

- ability to perform hydraulic calculation of pipeline systems;

- knowledge of the characteristics of heat transfer processes (thermal conductivity, convection heat exchange, radiant heat exchange, complex heat exchange;

- ability to perform thermal calculation of heat exchange devices.

The acquisition of learning outcomes according to the educational component is achieved by studying the following sections:

- technical thermodynamics;

- hydromechanics;

- heat transfer.
