Students should know:

- properties, quality indicators and technologies of processing, cleaning, use of working substances; their impact on the technical, economic and environmental parameters of ship equipment;

- values of normalized and defective indicators of the quality of working substances;

- technologies to prevent scaling and corrosion of ship equipment;

- wastewater and wastewater treatment technologies;

- technologies for reducing the amount of NO_x and SO_x oxides in the exhaust gases of ship power plant (SPP);

- technologies for cleaning ship equipment from operational sediments;

Students must be able to:

- implement processing technologies and use of working substances in SPP and devices;

- control the quality indicators of working substances to the required extent;

- adjust these quality indicators in accordance with the needs of the technical operation of the ship's equipment;

- control and ensure normalized parameters of sewage and wastewater, as well as the content of SO_x and NO_x in the exhaust gases of power plants;

- clean the ship's equipment from operational deposits.
