Learning outcomes of course unit

Students must demonstrate:

1) the ability to perform the tasks, duties and responsibilities listed in column 2 of the table at the operational level. A-Ш/1 of the 1978 STCW Convention, as amended;

2) training and experience to achieve the necessary knowledge, understanding and professionalism (should be based on section A – VII1/1, part 3-2 – "Principles of keeping a running engine watch", and should take into account the relevant requirements of this part and the guidance given in of Part B of the 1978 STCW Convention, as amended), namely:

- safe watchkeeping;

- regular watchkeeping duties;

- ship  power plant machinery operation in normal and special modes;

- ship power plant and systems operation and maintenance;

3) the ability at the management level to perform the tasks, duties and responsibilities listed in Table A-Ш/2 of the 1978 STCW Convention, as amended.

Section 6. Auxiliary mechanisms and equipment operation and maintenance.

Section 7. Bunkering operations.

Section 8. Ballast operations. 

Equipment (if applicable) Laboratory equipment: centrifugal pumps of the training engine room. Laboratory equipment: Diesel 8NVD 36-1. Laboratory equipment: DAP ME simulator. Computer simulator using the "Crew" software.
