- possession of the economic thinking culture;
- knowledge of the main economic categories and laws of functioning and development of social production;
- the ability to analyze economic phenomena and processes, to apply the categorical apparatus of economic theory for their explanation;

- - the ability to collect and process statistical information, and to make general conclusions as for economic trends;
- knowledge of the role, types and economic foundations of enterprises functioning, including maritime transport enterprises;
