Learning outcomes of course unit | Memorization: Understanding the essence, structure, and functioning mechanisms of international economic relations at both macro and micro levels; classification of free economic zones and their activities in countries around the world; indicators of international division of labor, international trade, and trends in their development; methods of regulating international trade relations; the role of international organizations, multinational corporations (MNCs), and international financial institutions (IFIs) in the development of the modern global economy. Comprehension: Understanding modern terminology in international economic relations; features of commodity and pricing policies in global markets; procedures for the development and conclusion of international economic contracts; principles of international settlement and credit relations; peculiarities of taxation, insurance in foreign trade, and its customs and currency regulation. Application of Knowledge and Skills: Collecting and analyzing information to choose and explore foreign markets; justifying decisions to enter international markets; evaluating the situation in the foreign market; planning a strategy for entering foreign markets and justifying the choice; conducting a search and assessment of foreign partners; preparing and concluding international contracts, settlement calculations; planning tax amounts for foreign economic activity (FEA) outcomes and optimizing them; conducting operations with currency values; insuring foreign economic transactions. Analysis: Analyzing methods and instruments for regulating foreign economic activity, export and import prices, tax amounts for FEA outcomes, international economic contracts, operations in the currency market, and types of credit agreements on the international market. Evaluation: Evaluating the features and trends of the current stage of world market development; criteria for selecting international markets; principles of choosing a method to enter foreign markets, customs value of goods, customs duties, and value-added tax (VAT) when transporting goods across borders. Creation: Developing proposals for increasing the efficiency of maritime and inland water transport enterprises, taking into account the specifics of modern international economic relations. |
