Understand:

the logic of the historical formation and development of the Ukrainian state;

the peculiarities of Ukraine’s development in the global, particularly European, context;

issues and contradictions in Ukraine’s development as a multicultural country.

Apply:

classification, interpretation, and systematization of information from historical sources;

use of scientific terminology to argue one's position on current issues of history  of Ukraine;

demonstration of critical thinking in relation to falsifications of historical and cultural information.

Analyze:

historical events from Ukraine’s pre-modern, modern, and post-modern periods;

actions of prominent historical figures of the Ukrainian state.

Evaluate:

consequences of historical events during different periods of history of Ukraine;

attitudes towards historical and cultural heritage in modern Ukraine.

The history of Ukraine during the early and high Middle Ages; interpretations of the history of Ukraine in the late Middle Ages; the early modern period of Ukrainian history; research on the "long" 19th century in Ukraine; the history of Ukraine from the beginning of World War I to the late 1930s; contemporary studies on the history of Ukraine from the beginning of World War I to the late 1930s; the history of Ukraine in the mid and second half of the 20th century.
