Remembering:

principles of international public law;

basic doctrines of formation of institutions and branches of international public law;

sources of international law.

Understanding:

roles and functions of international law for regulation of international relations;

patterns of emergence and development of the main institutions of international public law;

legal personality of international actors;

the importance of international standards in the field of human rights.

Application of knowledge (skills):

interpretation of conventional norms regulating international public relations;

classification of international agreements;

recognition of means of settlement of international disputes;

identification of diplomatic and consular privileges and immunities; classification of territories in international law.

Analyzing:

determination of peaceful means of resolving international disputes;

separation of grounds for international legal responsibility of states and individuals;

selection of types and forms of international responsibility of subjects of international law.

Evaluating:

the role of peace diplomacy in international relations;

grounds for application of international responsibility;

roles and significance of international instruments for ensuring international peace and security.

Creating:

resolution of the legal situation within the framework of the proposed tasks, etc.

Content of course unit

The concepts, generally accepted principles and the sources of public international law. Subjects and their legal personality. The recognition and the legal succession. The institute of territories in public international law. Peaceful means of settling disputes. Conventional international law. Branches: foreign relations law, humanitarian law, international space law, international environmental law.
