Learning outcomes of course unit

Knowledge:

  1. Requirements for the ship's power installation (SPP).
  2. Complete sets of ship power plants.
  3. Interactions between the propeller, the ship's hull and the main engine under various sailing conditions.
  4. Methods of analysis of thermal energy balance and efficiency of SPP.
  5. Peculiarities of SEU management during transient regimes, with partial or complete failures of individual SPP elements.

Skill:

  1. Prepare the power plant for operation according to the requirements of the flight.
  2. Check the parameters of the power plant according to the technical characteristics.
  3. Monitor the operation of the main propulsion plant and auxiliary systems to maintain safe operating conditions.
