Knowledge:

  1. Requirement of the ISM Code and STCW Code 78 as amended.
  2. Methods of organizing the safe operation of a ship's power plant.
  3. Methods of effective management of engine room resources.
  4. Methods of formal safety assessment.

Skills:

  1. To organize effective and safe operation with auxiliary mech, systems, the main engine of the ship's power plant.
  2. To ensure the organization of the main engine management from different posts.
  3. To organize safe maintenance of the machine watch.
  4. Use the methods of optimal control of the ship's power plant when the ship's sailing conditions change, adjustment of automation tools and diagnostics in the event of malfunctions.
