Knowledge of the situation and risk assessment principles, selection of a sequence of actions, decision-making and evaluation of the expected result.

Knowledge and ability to ensure the safety of the ship's crew members and passengers and the operational status of life-saving means and devices, fire-fighting systems and other safety systems.

The ability to organize firefighting and abandonment drills.

The ability to maintain life-saving equipment and devices, fire-fighting systems and other safety systems in operational condition.

The knowledge of the actions to be taken to protect and protect all persons on board in the event of accidents.

The knowledge of actions to localize the consequences of ship damage after a fire, explosion, collision or grounding.
