Learning outcomes of course unit
  • The ability to develop and plan technological processes of maintenance, renovation and repair of electrotechnical equipment of marine and inland water transport based on modern information technologies.
  • The ability to optimize work modes, ship electrical power equipment and automation means operation and maintenance strategies.
  • The ability to organize gathering of information, summarize and analyze it as for the technical condition, ecological and operational characteristics of various types of ship electrical power equipment and automation means during the process of their operation; and also the ability to work out recommendations as for their uprating.
  • The ability to apply methods of engineering forecasting and the ones of attending the diagnostic models for systems of monitoring technical condition of various types of technical facilities of marine and inland water transport during the process of their operation.
  • The ability to apply decision-making methods under conditions of uncertainty while undertaking operational management, control, and diagnosis of technical condition of various types of marine and inland water transport technical facilities.
  • The ability to use methods of engineering forecasting, complex systems reliability theories and modern methods of their diagnosis for monitoring systems of ship electrical equipment and automation means technical condition during the process of their operation.

Equipment (if applicable) Digital and analogue multimeters, ammeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes are used to control the performance of electro-technical devices. Special software is used to model the reliability characteristics of electro-technical devices.
