Learning outcomes of course unit
  • Knowledge of the principles of construction of power distribution circuits in ship power plants (SPPs) of combined propulsion complexes (CPCs) and their control systems (CSs), parameters and indicators of reliable operation of SPPs of CPCs;
  • Knowledge of circuit-technical solutions and the elemental base of modern SPPs of CPCs;
  • Knowledge of main dependencies and formulas for determining necessary parameters of SPPs of CPCs;
  • The ability to optimize operating modes, to develop a strategy for the use and maintenance of SPPs of CPCs;
  • The ability to organize the gathering of information, generalize and analyze it as for the technical condition, environmental and operational characteristics of SPPs of CPCs types during their operation;
  • The ability to develop recommendations for improving SPPs of CPCs;
  • The ability to analyze circuit diagrams of SPPs of CPCs, depending on their purpose;
  • The ability to analyze and trace faults in the circuit based on the results of parameter measurements and performing necessary calculations;
  • The ability to determine the interchangeability of individual circuit elements;
  • The ability to uprate the reliability of the equipment, carry out protection adjustment and checking of blocking, etc.;
  • The ability to ensure the implementation of safety;
  • The ability to carry out computer modelling of SPPs of CPCs circuits in order to evaluate their parameters and the quality of electrical energy;
  • The ability to determine the parameters of SPPs of CPCs according to the provided single-line circuit and evaluate the indicators of the reliable operation of SPPs of CPCs;
  • The ability to apply methods of engineering forecasting and support of diagnostic models for systems of monitoring and assessment of SPPs of CPCs technical condition;
  • The ability to solve problems of energy saving, ensuring energy efficiency and quality of electrical energy, carry out tests and adjustments of SPPs of CPCs;
  • The ability to optimize the modes of operation, strategies for the use and maintenance of SPPs of CPCs.
