Learning outcomes of course unit
  • The ability to use antennas general theory and engineering calculation of different bands antennas radio engineering characteristics which are used in merchant fleet radio communication, radar and radio navigation.
  • The ability to choose and use operation features and different types antennas design which are used in different bands of Maritime Mobile Service radio waves.
  • The ability to choose the composition, purpose, principle of operation and use of various types of ultra-high frequency devices used in antenna-feeder lines of marine radio communication systems devices, as well as in Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).
  • 4. The ability to choose the types of antennas used in the maritime service of radio communication, radar, radio navigation, such antennas characteristics, their advantages and disadvantages.
  • The ability to perform basic radio engineering calculations antenna parameters using computer modeling and analysis tools.
  • The ability to use modern control and measuring devices to adjust and optimize different frequency bands antenna devices characteristics.
