Learning outcomes of course unit

Knowledge of legal sources of safety management in international maritime transport and methods of management and organization of work in accordance with modern safety requirements.

Knowledge of the specifics of sources of danger and harm on marine ships in modern working conditions, identification of danger and methods of risk determination, conducting risk level analysis.

Ability to develop plans and protection measures according to the level of risk.

Knowledge of the requirements for accounting and the procedure for investigating the consequences of accidents.

The ability to analyse accidents and provide preventive measures for industrial injuries on board, and develop methods to prevent recurrence of situations.

Organization of drills and monitoring the compliance with the requirements of international maritime conventions.

Understanding the impact of psychophysiological characteristics of a person on safe professional activity.

Ability to apply international and/or national medical guidelines and manuals in practice in any cases related to the need to provide medical assistance.
