Learning outcomes of course unit

Knowledge and understanding of the semiconductor electronics basics, power electronics based on thyristors, triacs, field-effect and bipolar transistors, automatic control systems electronic components of ship converters and protective devices.

Knowledge of the principles of electronic equipment and the ability to interpret electrical and simple electronic circuits.

Knowledge of the operation principles and architecture of programmable logic controllers and systems based on them, knowledge of the programming industrial controllers basics

Content of course unit

The acquisition of learning outcomes for the educational component is achieved by studying the educational material in the following sections:

- Physical foundations of semiconductor devices

- Uncontrolled and controlled single- and three-phase rectifiers

- Pulse width DC and AC converters

- Secondary power sources

- Amplifiers of electric signals

- Integrated circuits (ICs)

- Elements and nodes of digital systems

- Programmable logic controllers - basics of architecture and programming

Equipment (if applicable)   Laboratory work is carried out: - in the software environment for modeling electrical and electronic circuits "MultiSim", v.14; - using Mitsubishi Electric / Schneider Electric microcontroller software
