Learning outcomes of course unit | To know: - Principles of ship power plants elements operation (SPP) (main and auxiliary), and the basics of their functioning. - Structural characteristics of ship steam boilers, steam and gas turbines, internal combustion engines, steering machinery. - Structural characteristics and principle of operation of ship's auxiliaries, deck mechanisms and refrigeration equipment. - General rules of SPP elements technical operation. To be able to: - Use the characteristics of the ship's power plant when performing the duties of a watchkeeping engineer at the operational level. - Ensure the requirements of international conventions regarding the safety of navigation, environmental protection and protection of human life at sea. |
