Learning outcomes of course unit

The student acquires learning outcomes that allow to demonstrate the ability to perform the tasks, duties and responsibilities listed in column 2 of tab. A-ІІІ/1, A-III/2, of the 1978 STCW Convention as amended, namely:

- safe engineering watch keeping;

- usual duties performed while on watch;

- procedures for power plant machinery operation in normal and special modes,

- operating procedures of power plant and vessel systems;

- maintenance safety measures that must be taken;

- control and determine the technical condition of the ship's machinery and equipment (SM&E);

- to carry out maintenance and repair of ship's machinery and equipment (SM&E) in the ship operation conditions ;

- carry out assembly and testing of SM&E.

Section 4. Main gas turbine- driven set operation.

Section 6. Auxiliary machinery and equipment operation.

Section 7. Bunkering operations.

Section 8. Ballast operations. 

Equipment (if applicable) Laboratory equipment: centrifugal pumps of the training engine room. Laboratory equipment: Diesel 8NVD 36-1. Laboratory equipment: DAP ME simulator. Computer simulator using the "Crew" software.
