Completion and defense of the ICP is confirmation of the cadet's / student's acquisition of the following skills:

• justify the level of research or development relevance;
• clearly formulate the task and topic of research or development;
• determine the purpose of research or development;
• select actual material, regulatory and technical documentation, numerical data and other information;
• analyze selected material, other statistical data, use appropriate methods of information processing and analysis;
• perform the solution of a specific individual practical task in the field of professional activity, which meets the standard of higher education in the relevant specialization of bachelor's training;
• apply modern methods, tools and technologies to solve practical tasks and research;
• draw reasonable conclusions based on the results of the work and formulate practical recommendations;
• present the main provisions of the project to the audience.

In the process of preparing for the implementation of the course project, the cadet / student chooses one of the types of work:

• research work containing analysis and systematization of scientific sources, independently obtained material or results of experiments, reasoned generalizations and conclusions on the chosen topic;
• work of an applied nature, which includes the choice of a given type of ship power plant and its configuration, operation and management determination.
