Knowledge of the list, content and validity period of mandatory documents that must be on ships in accordance with international conventions, depending on the type of ship.

Knowledge of responsibilities and measures to ensure the operation of the safety management system on the vessel in relation to maintenance and repair.

Knowledge of duties in accordance with the relevant requirements of the International Conventions that ensure the safety of life at sea and pollution prevention from ships in relation to conducting periodic inspections and maintaining the validity of certificates, the ability to keep records in relevant logs.

Knowledge of the supervision principles of compliance with the requirements for ensuring working and living conditions for seafarers on board a ship.

The acquisition of learning outcomes for the educational component is achieved by studying the following topics:

- International obligations and responsibilities of the flag state, port and coastal state. Recognized organizations and their requirements

- Certificates and other mandatory ship documents in accordance with the requirements of international conventions. Control over the fulfilment of the requirements of international conventions for ship equipment and systems

- Conventional and technical supervision of vessels by the flag state. Surveys of vessels

- Supervision of compliance with requirements for maintenance and repair of the vessel and equipment

- Memorandums of understanding. Control of ships by the port state.
