| Learning outcomes of course unit | Mastering the following learning outcomes: - understanding the role and place of the cyber risk management system at sea in the overall maritime safety management system; - knowledge of the definitions of the concepts of cybernetic system (cyber system), cyberspace; - knowledge of the definition, composition and functions of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT), the difference between them, examples of OT on seagoing vessels; - knowledge of the types of cyberattacks, their characteristics, methods for detecting cyber threats in maritime transport; - mastery of additional measures in the event of damage to IT systems, which are related to troubleshooting in surveillance systems, software version control, software management; - ability to use a methodology based on the concept of risk to assess the threats of cyber interference in the context of cyberattacks in accordance with the requirements of MSC.428(98) and MSC-FAL. 1/Circ.3; - mastering general cybernetic thinking with an understanding of human-machine interaction and maximum risk reduction in the event of cyberattacks; - knowledge of approaches in terms of increasing security, standardization and bureaucratic control; the ability to timely detect cyberattacks on OT systems and IT systems and to minimize risks in the event of their implementation; - the ability to analyze the vulnerabilities of ship systems to potential cyberattacks; - the ability to assess cybernetic risks and the potential impact of the consequences of possible cyber incidents; - the ability to develop action plans for protection measures, countermeasures and analysis of the possible consequences of cyberthreats on a seagoing vessel, including ship security plans, as well as the skills to fill out relevant documents. |
