Learning outcomes of course unit | Knowledge: Basic methods and principles of constructing mathematical models. Requirements for mathematical models. Typical mathematical models of power plants hydro-gas dynamics and thermal processes. Main analytical and numerical methods for solving boundary and initial-boundary problems for hydrodynamics and heat conduction equations. Skills: Compile mathematical models: fluid flow in flat channels, pipelines, and cooling voids; lubrication processes; movement of the working body in an engine cylinder; temperature distribution in components of power plants. Apply finite difference and computational mathematics software packages for numerical modelling. |
