Learning outcomes of course unit
  • Knowledge of control principles and their application in ship automatic control systems (ACS).
  • Knowledge of mathematical models of ACS dynamics in the form of differential equations, transfer functions, state space equations, etc.
  • Knowledge of ACS typical dynamic links characteristics.
  • Knowledge of ACS structural schemes and the rules of their transformation.
  • Knowledge of the concept of ACS stability and the main criteria for its assessment.
  • Knowledge of typical control laws: P, PD, PI, PID and features of application of typical regulators in ship ACS.
  • Knowledge of methods of researching processes in nonlinear and digital ACS.
  • Knowledge of subordinate control systems synthesis methods.
  • Knowledge of modern software tools of researching processes in ship ACS.
  • The ability to compile and transform ACS structural schemes, obtain transfer functions based on the perturbation and the set action.
  • The ability to analyze the analogue and digital ACS stability using various stability criteria.
  • The ability to adjust P, PD, PI, PID typical regulators.
  • The ability to analyze the quality of transient processes in ship ACS.
  • The ability to research processes in non-linear and digital ACS.
  • The ability to synthesize loop regulators in subordinate control systems.
