Learning outcomes of course unit | Remembering: different types of charter parties, their structure, obligations and conditions of interaction between the shipowner and the charterer, conditions for breach of contract and consequences of breach. Applying of Knowledge (Skills): in conducting business correspondence for professional purposes, taking into account intercultural differences, holding debates, discussions; in communication with partners of foreign companies on a professional level and in social and everyday communication; professional vocabulary in various communication situations when concluding contracts; clear and understandable organization of monologue speech, using the English language in oral and written form. Analyzing: special and additional literature; possible consequences in case of violation of the terms of the contract and methods of conflict resolution in English; Assessment: management skills of a real leader in various maritime companies and mastering a special vocabulary for the performance of one's professional duties; methods of overcoming conflicts and self-control in extreme situations. Creating: case models for arranging various charter parties; role-playing games and presentations to illustrate cases; models of teamwork taking into account intercultural differences during business communication. |
