Remembering:

the main provisions of the legal regulation of the investigation of accidents and incidents at sea;

stages and prerequisites for the investigation of marine accidents;

the role of the human factor in the possibility of accidents and its impact on the investigation.

Understanding:

the relationship between maritime accidents and amendments to existing international conventions;

the process of managing and coordinating maritime accident investigations;

methods and tools for collecting evidence during an investigation.

Application of knowledge (skills):

regulatory acts governing the procedure for investigating marine accidents;

mechanisms of influence of marine accidents on changes in international conventions;

procedures and stages of investigation and analysis of marine accidents.

Analyzing:

the impact of the human factor on accidents and the possibility of their further avoidance;

actions during the initial stage of the investigation and their impact on the final results;

tools and methods for analysing the evidence base of investigations

Evaluating:

critical assessment of the effectiveness of management and coordination of investigations;

assessment of the contribution of marine accident investigations to improving maritime safety.

Creating:

development of conclusions and recommendations based on the results of investigations; creation of a strategy for managing and coordinating marine accident investigations; adaptation of the knowledge gained to specific cases of marine accidents using the IMO's Global Integrated Shipping Information System (GISIS).
